About this Cook
I'm a college student learning and growing everyday in both life and cooking. I've always enjoyed cooking, but in the past few years have started showing serious interest and trying to improve my skills.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, casseroles, anything sweet, things that fit a college student's budget :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my mom makes wonderful cinnamon butterscotch pecan rolls that I look forward to more than the gifts!
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I enjoy what I make I consider it a triumph at this stage in the game.
My cooking tragedies
The fist time I made a cake from scratch for father's day I did not realize that Pam does not equal buttering and flouring the pan. My cake tasted delicious although half of it was stuck to the pans!

Easy Sugar Cookies
Fantastic! I halved the recipe since it was only for 2 people, but I'm sure the full batch would have been eaten just as fast! I decided to make these spur of the moment so I nuked the butter for a bit in the microwave and I think the heat helped dissolve the sugar making it oh so delicious. I rolled some of my balls in sugar before baking which was yummy, but the plain ones were just as good. I'm sure they would taste great with frosting if I can ever keep enough plain ones around long enough to make some!

Chai Tea Mix
Tastes just like $3.00 chai tea lattes from chains. I did not add the plain creamer because I did not have it, but it's still delicious.

Chocolate Scotcheroos
I've made these for years, they're super easy. I usually boil the syrup peanut butter mixture for about 15-30 seconds just to make it easier to mix in with the cereal. There are never any leftovers when I take these to friend's!
