About this Cook
I am a serious "foodie". I love everything about food from growing vegetables to preparing it to serving it. I have owned a cafe in the past and having closed it in 2002, I've decided to reopen. I am currently pursuing equipment and furnishings to run a new cafe.
My favorite things to cook
Although I love to cook, I have a particular interest in baking. Of all baking, cookies have to be at the top of the list. From drop to cutouts, I honest believe that we could achieve world peace with the right cooking and I have THAT recipe!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up watching my mom. aunt and my grandma "fixin" dinner. It is a lost art. Gone are the days of starting dinner in the early afternoon. Families now eat whatever they can pick up at the drive-thru. Sad, but true.
My cooking triumphs
My "Fish Market Apple Pie" took First Place in a pie baking contest. It was pretty darn good!
My cooking tragedies
I used my spare "sugar" in a batch of cookies which actually turned out to be salt. Yuk.

Cranberry Orange Cookies
Scrumptious! I was mixing the butter and sugars when I realized I didn't have fresh cranberries, but do not despair, dried cranberries work fine. I also added chocolate chips. Yum. Just a little sweeter than fresh cranberries.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V
Use this soup at my cafe. I add canned chiles and litle more cumin AND some salt! I serve with a dollop of sour cream, a bit of shredded cheddar and some tortilla strips. Yum
