About this Cook
I'm the mother of 8, and grandmother to 11 (so far) Ive also had 132 foster children over a 30 yr span,I grew up in the restaurant industry, Ive also had one of my own, I have a brother thats an executive chef, and one that has his own catering business.we ALL love to cook . Including my grown boys.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything and everything, I love trying new recipies and inventing my own. I'm not much into plain meat an potatoe meals , because I like a callenge.
My favorite family cooking traditions
BBQ ing is our all time favorite and we gather the family togeather for a BBQ, I let my boys do the grilling and the weman take care of all the trimmings. My 14 yr old son who we fondly call the "grill king" is very into inventing new marinades and sauces,he's never made anything yet that wasnt a hit!

Dressing for Potato Salad
This dressing is GREAT. a few of the kids weren't overly fond of it but it was a hit with the adults.A nice switch up for once in awhile.

Orzo and Tomato Salad with Feta Cheese
This is FABULOUS !. I left out the parsley because it tastes grassy to me. and I used Dill paste insteadof fresh because thats what I had.. It turned out great,I sprinkled a little parsley flakes over top for the heck of it.

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs
I threw a huge BBQ for my daughters 25th birthday.I follwed this recipe to a tee except that after I baked the ribs, I allowed them to cool completely then before putting them on the BBQ I put them in my smoker for 1-1/2 hours over Hickory Chips.I used the exact same recipe for my chicken wings and also smoked them too. everyone raved about both. Ive already been asked to do these ribs at our next family birthday. like one reader stated the sauce is time consuming to make, but its worth it, and once youve tried it , its hard to go back to any other.
