About this Cook
I'm a grad student studying Plant Ecology with dreams of becoming a professor somewhere near Seattle, my favorite town on earth. I'm interested in basically everything and love to teach. I live with my wife, Janel, and two daughters, Hannah and Ginny.
My favorite things to cook
Seafood! It's been a bit of a challenge for me, but I'm still learning! Grilled Anything - I've really enjoyed learning the ins and outs of grilling.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Unfortunately, there's not a lot of great cooks in my family and likewise, not many traditions. I'd love to start building some traditions with my own family, especially for holidays.
My cooking triumphs
Salmon Chowder and Mushroom Soup! I finally made something that was really tasty!
My cooking tragedies
Arghh... yeah....

Classic Waffles
I like adding another tsp of sugar; it makes them a little more pastry-ish. yum!

Italian Dressing Mix
its good without the salt too. I use pressed garlic and a little chopped onion. Ommitting the celery salt and plain salt as well still leaves a fantastic dressing mix. Let it blend over night!

Mexican Cream Cheese Rollups
Pretty tasty but I had to add a few things to get the flavor right. I think the brand of olives you use is pretty important.
