Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Made this for Thanksgiving and it was okay. I added extra spices as some reviewers did but it still did not have enough of a spicy flavor to it. Also, the pie was not very pumpkin-y. I think I'll stick with the Libby's recipe on the can.

Strawberry Cake II

Came out deliciously soft with full of strawberry flavor. I tried it with the whipped cream cheese frosting recipe from this site as others have suggested. It was ok. Next time I'll try regular cream cheese frosting. I think if I used the strawberry frosting in this receipe, it'd be super sweet and a strawberry overkill but that's just me =). I made these into cupcakes and baked 20 min.

Chocolate Crinkles II

What an easy recipe! I was able to toss all the ingredients while talking on the phone. Fridged the dough overnight. You have to work with it pretty quickly since it gets soft and sticky pretty fast. But that won't deter me from making this again. The cookies came out with a little crust and were soft on the inside. I cut down the sugar from 2 cups to 1.5 cups.

Incredibly Delicious Italian Cream Cake

Made this cake for a friend's birthday and everyone loved it!! I mixed in the egg yolks first to the mixture then whipped up the whites and folded them in at the end (since that's what other recipes do). Used milk instead of cream for the frosting. Super easy and delicious!

Peanut Butter Noodles

I liked it but everyone thought it was okay. I added more peanut butter than it asked for maybe that's why. I added some onions, snap peas, tofu, and chicken breast to make it a filling dinner entree.

Baked Pork Chops I

Came out wonderfully moist! Had a bit of trouble keeping the breading on the pork like some reviewers when it came out of the oven. I added some onions to the bake and served the dish with rice and roasted veges on the side with some of the sauce poured right on top. I also subbed the wine with extra milk.

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Wow. Maybe I did something wrong with this cake because it wasn't soft and moist like most other people. It was quite dense and did not rise. I took the advice of others to use buttermilk and add in whipped egg whites at the end but the end result was not good =(. I will not be trying this again. Strange enough, everyone else liked it.... Made it for my sister's birthday too because she's a strawberry lover, but I was embarrassed >_<.

Eggless Tofu Spinach Quiche

This quiche was full of flavor and everyone (a bunch of picky eaters) loved it. I made it for a bridal shower where the bride was a vegetarian and even she liked it. Even my sister, with high-end tastes for food and is quite a critic of my cooking, enjoyed it.

Egg Custard Pie III

It was delicious and easy to make except for a few minor issues... 1. TOO sweet. Next time I would use just 2/3-1/2 cup of sugar instead of the full 1 cup. 2. TOO LITTLE egg custard. The pie turned out to be really thing. Next time, I would double the recipe.

Easy Red Beans and Rice

FIVE stars for being super easy! 3.5 for taste...I thought it was okay, but the boyfriend said it was delicious and gave it a 5. This dish would definitely need more herbs/spices though. I upped the garlic and added a few teaspoons of cajun seasoning....still seemed to be missing something.

SO EASY and so delicious. I substituted the water with coffee and frosted the cake with cream cheese frosting. The coffee will really help bring out the flavor.

Simple White Cake

This was good but nothing special about it so I just gave it 3 stars for average. I kind of like the boxed kind better. It was easy though I give it that. However, I did accidentally put in one cup of butter instead of half...so that could have affected the outcome.

Best Tuna Casserole

Superbly easy and delicious recipe! A few changes: I filled the two cans of cream of mushroom with milk and added them in for fear the casserole would turn out dry. I cooked the onions, as suggested, before adding it in to the casserole mix but with garlic to give it more flavor. I substituted potato chips with ritz crackers. I added frozen cut carrots along with the peas. What a keeper!!
