About this Cook
Married. Five children, two step-children, two grandchildren. Career firefighter / paramedic.
My favorite things to cook
Love to bake. Enjoy preparing big family style meals. Love my crockpot, bread machine and grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Big potluck style family gatherings and the big holiday and Sunday dinners we would sit down to.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that turns out good the first time.
My cooking tragedies
The angelfood cake I attempted to make for my Dad when I was about 12 years old. I didn't read the recipe correctly. Instead of adding 12 egg whites, I added 12 whole eggs. Needless to say, it was one very dense (heavy) cake that smelled and tasted remarkably like an omlete. Bless his heart...my Dad ate it anyway.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
This recipe rocks! I forgot to pick up a packet of ranch dressing mix so I improvised and used a couple squirts of bottled ranch dressing and it seemed to turn out just fine. My family absolutely loved it. We also used chunky blue cheese dressing as a topping versus extra wing sauce and it was tasty. We'll be adding this to our family favorites and making it again.

Lemon Garlic Tilapia
I made this for my family and we all agreed it was good but seemed to be missibg something...we'll give it another try but will play with the seasoning to see if we can figure out the missing flavor.

Pineapple Banana Bread
Delicious! I've tried many different banana bread recipes and this one is tops in my book! Very moist.
