About this Cook
In high school my mom didn't cook much, so I had to cook my own dinner most nights, but that only meant I got really good at microwaving, and at box mixes, although I did bake often. In college, I almost burnt down our house trying to make grilled chesse, and earned myself a reputation of being a terror in the kitchen. Fast forward to after college, I got a job in a Deli, owned by a woman who is a fantastic cook, and one of my co-workers actually is a Johnson and Wales grad, so the two of them have slowly been teaching me to cook, and about 2 years ago I actually took over the cooking for myself and my hisband who had been doing all the dinners prior to that. I've had some issues, but over the last few months, I've really grown to enjoy cooking, and I look forward to continuing to improve, and finding new things he'll eat! We just got married and I have TONS of new cooking gadgets to play with now. I have a degree in techincal theatre, and I like to work on odd shows here and there in
My favorite things to cook
My husband's family sauce, cheesecake, and cookies and I'm just starting to play with my new bread machine.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cooking baking has been a big family tradition, and one of my favorite parts of the holidays, but every excuse my family can up come with for a big meal at the farmhouse is a plus. I can't wait to have a kitchen big enough to start hosting those big family meals myself.
My cooking triumphs
When my boss at the deli, let me bake cookies for the case in the store for the first time. Also when meeting my new father-in-law for the first time, my husband's aunt (his sister-in-law) told him that I was a "fantastic" cook. That was the first time anyone other than my husband or my actors (who don't really count, since they like ANY food that is free) said I was good cook.
My cooking tragedies
The grilled cheese that almost brunt down my college apartment.

Peanut Butter Chicken
I left out the mushrooms, since the hubby doesn't like them, but otherwise followed the recipe. But neither of us liked this at all, and we're both HUGE Peanut butter fans. The tomatoes just don't work well with the PB in our opinions.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake
The hubby wanted to give this a 6 star rating!! Said it was better than his mom's cheesecake!!! Made it for my cousins birthday party, and it was loved by everyone. Will def. be trying different combos with this for years to come!!!!!!
