About this Cook
I've been married for over 25 years and have a daughter and son. I'm looking forward to someday being a grandma and having someone to "help me" with my baking.
My favorite things to cook
Ooey, gooey goodies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking traditions are my Nana's pie crust which my mother and her sisters have continued (especially with their apricot tarts). Also, my mother's holiday treats. My daughter's favorite are her Beer Nuts.
My cooking triumphs
My unique knack for creating new dishes with things I have on hand. The unfortunate thing is that I am not able to accurately replicate the masterpiece!
My cooking tragedies
Only twice, have I made something that was unedible. They both used some sort of cereal and was for a BBQ-type dish. I now (with the urging of my family), avoid all recipes from cereal boxes that contain any kind of meat ingredient!

Fresh Cantaloupe Bread
Great! I followed the recipe as written even though I questioned the paprika. The bread had a beautiful color and great elasticity. We plan on using it for sandwich bread. Even though the canteloupe I used had a strong taste, barely a hint of canteloupe could be detected. I will definitely use this recipe again!

Oatmeal Cake III
This is wonderful and moist! The second time I made it, I used pecans instead of walnuts. We enjoyed it even more! As a side note, it freezes well.
