Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
I have been making an excellent Chicken Cordon Bleu for years but the cream sauce and color addition of paprika in this recipe added a whole new dimension and flavor kick that were both divine! So yummy. I too browned the chicken and let it finish cooking in the oven. Wowie! This made me popular tonight!

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
These came out perfectly. Great, Great recipe! I had exactly enough of all three bowls of mixes to make 24 muffins. I also always keep all but one of these ingredients stocked in my house. Cream cheese was al I had to buy. They are pretty too. My cream cheese was runny and therefore ran to the paper liners but it made no difference...they are still awesome and delicious. Really good job on this!

Baked Ziti III

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
GREAT dish! I also mixed the sour cream with the pasta and then layered the remaining ingredients. I made a double batch for our family of 5 and another family of 5. We only needed ONE batch...and that's with kids and adults alike going for seconds. Try this, we loved it!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
This was good. I altered the recipe dramatically to boost nutritonal value and they still turned out yummy and fluffy indeed. My switches & additions: 1 C. Whole Wheat Flour, 2 Tbsp. Ground Flax, 1 mashed Banana, 2 Tbsp. chopped Walnuts. I would make these again.

Autumn Apple Tart

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
This turned out really well just as is. I don't agree with using less apples. Use all of them to retain the "apple" in Apple Tart. The topping is good stuff--not too sweet, little crunch, just perfect! I doubled the topping too and sprinkled till all apples were covered. Yum, yum. The only modifaction I plan to make in the future (and I DO plan to make this again, and again) is to use a little less crust. It was a bit thick for my taste. But good none the less. You did a great job delivering a recipe that works well the first shot:)

Cherry Crisp

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
The consistency as stated was mushy and did not turn out well. Not "crumby" at all. The flavor of what did turn out was OK but nothing to write home about. I only wish I had not tried this for the 1st time as a dish we shared with friends.

These turned out great. Not crunchy till I overcooked one batch but a yummy soft cookie. It makes a lot. I would halve the recipe next time (and I have 3 kids).

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
This was great. I think the lemon juice is too much. I have a lemon tree and eat a lot of lemons...this amount overwhelmed the otherwise tasty dish. Maybe cut it down to 1/4 cup and no more. I did do what others mentioned and add in white wine...such a nice addition. Very elegant meal. I made this with homemade Potatoes Au Gratin, and Roasted Asparagus.

Roasted Asparagus and Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
This was great. Didn't use the mushrooms but didn't miss them. I was a little too generous with the olive oil and had a few drips start to smoke in my oven...if you are like me--just use a casserole dish or aluminum foil turned up at the sides. Yummy! Nice herby addition.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
Scrumptious! Perfect recipe. I cooked 6 medium potatoes and all was perfect with the amount of liquid. Mine was a bit salty for me. Perhaps I was too distracted cooking while talking on the phone...will have to watch that for next time, especially because I have never made Potatoes Au Gratin. These also made great leftovers in a scrambled egg and bell pepper Frittata.

French Bread

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
This is THE BEST French Bread recipe I have ever made. I have made lots of good ones but this was the most like store bought than any others. It is light and airy and the dough shaped beautifully. The pan of water placed in the oven while this cooked was a helpful tip. Love that you added is the rolling up jelly roll style an laying on seams.

Amish Bread

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I don't really do "white breads" but this is just sooo sooo GOOD! I have made this a bunch and will continue to do so. Perfect in thick slices or chunks as a dipping bread. Follow the recipe though! I have tried substuting in wheat flour, boosting nutritional content with ground flax, etc... it has not come out quite as yummy those times. One humid day it colapsed...I blame the humidity. Other than that it is sooooo delicious. Thank you!

Dog Food Dip

This recipe inspired me. I used turkey burger, jack pepper cheese & a three pepper combo instead of velveeta and jalapenos. Made it for Halloween:) Served with Blue Corn Tortilla chips and Tomato Basil potato chips (kind a purple and orange combo. My husband just wanted to eat the dip.

Herbed Batter Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
My children all loved these! Excellent base recipe for rolls. I did add garlic powder, rosemary and parmesan. These would also be super with cheddar cheese inside. Could use a bit more salt and tiny bit less sugar. But they were delicious. The kids liked the muffin shape, My husband did not (he usually hates sweets--I think there was a connection he made)

Blue Cheese, Bacon and Chive Stuffed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
It turns out I do not like bleu cheese, nor does anyone in my family. This tasted terrible but I made the recipe again using Feta and a tenderloin and it got RAVE reviews at a dinner party we had. I tied up the pork and crusted t with rosemary , salt, pepper and cooked in the oven. Thanks, this was a great success with a little modification to the cheese.

Raspberry-Glazed Rosemary Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
This tasted great but was strange with the rasberry seeds. That's said by someone who's a big "rasberry anything" fan. I just could not get adjusted to those crunchy little buggers on my chicken. My husband did not enjoy the seeds in this dish either.

White Chocolate Fruit Tart

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
The filling and fruit was great, the crust was awkwardly difficult to cut! The dough here needs an improvement. I baked till just turning golden on the edges as instructed so I am not sure what the problem was. The crusts flavor was great but it was just too hard to get in individual portions. I think this would be best as tartlets. Next time I will try a different recipe or at least a different crust but the taste was yummy. Be sparing if doing lemon juice topping... In retrospect, mine was a little drippy.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Super recipe. Yummy bread! I replaced 1/3 of the sugar with splenda. It made 12 muffins and 3 mini loaves. This is a keeper for me. No need to try anything else.
