About this Cook
We have been together for the last 12 years and both of us enjoy cooking. We have 3 children & have lived in California for 10 years.
My favorite things to cook
He loves to grill or make variations of breaded chicken pan fried. He's also the whole show when it comes to entertaining. He loves to put on meals. I love using the slow cooker & oven to make hearty- comfort foods. Lately, trying new recipes out on the family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband makes the worlds best Meat Stuffng at Thanksgiving. Not kidding...ground pork, ground beef, spices and veggies, cooked and mashed together to make a stiff stuffing that can be cut into slabs we put on buttered toast. Oh my! Gets my mouth watering just thinking about it! Not that it's a huge tradition-- I have a Bacon Wrapped Mapple glazed Turkey I make at the holidays, drives him wild! I am always on the hunt for new recipes and while trying to change things up a bit one year got myself saddled with now being our family Turkey chef.
My cooking triumphs
Triumphs? I would say any recipe that turns out well enough to be enjoyed by those eating it!
My cooking tragedies
Oh Gosh, I recall clearly the night he burned our dinner on the grill so bad we thought we might end up calling the fire department. I myself, have had too many tragedies to even list! Let's just say...I like to "live and learn" One big problem I have is that no matter what, I try to eyeball ingredients. Not great when certain flavors need to be measured carefully (A recent mustard chicken incident comes to mind). Also not great in baking. BTW, I cannot make a decent cookie for anything! Let's hope that will change now that I am so addicted to this site!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II
I have been making an excellent Chicken Cordon Bleu for years but the cream sauce and color addition of paprika in this recipe added a whole new dimension and flavor kick that were both divine! So yummy. I too browned the chicken and let it finish cooking in the oven. Wowie! This made me popular tonight!

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins
These came out perfectly. Great, Great recipe! I had exactly enough of all three bowls of mixes to make 24 muffins. I also always keep all but one of these ingredients stocked in my house. Cream cheese was al I had to buy. They are pretty too. My cream cheese was runny and therefore ran to the paper liners but it made no difference...they are still awesome and delicious. Really good job on this!

Baked Ziti III
GREAT dish! I also mixed the sour cream with the pasta and then layered the remaining ingredients. I made a double batch for our family of 5 and another family of 5. We only needed ONE batch...and that's with kids and adults alike going for seconds. Try this, we loved it!
