About this Cook
Well, I only cook for my boyfriend and myself usually. I'm still learning a lot about cooking, and being on AR is really helping. My BF gets home from work an hour before I do, so I'm always rushing to get dinner on the table at a decent time. I like weekends, because I can spend as much time as I need prepping and preparing meals.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I'm just okay at regular cooking, but baking I'm pretty good at.
My cooking triumphs
I seem to have a natural affinity for making yeast bread.
My cooking tragedies
Way too many. One that really comes to mind - back in my early teens, I wanted to make roasted garlic mashed potatoes for my dad. Unfortunately, it didn't occur to me that after I roasted the garlic, I should take the skins off before mashing it with the potatoes. Bless my dad though, he still ate it. :D

Blueberry Sauce
This was delicious! I used fresh black raspberries, as that is what I had on hand. The subtle taste of orange juice complemented the berries perfectly! However, I think I will decrease the sugar a little bit next time. I look forward to making this with all types of berries.

Crunchy French Toast Sticks
These were really good. A nice twist on classic French toast! The recipe made a lot of sticks, and they were very filling. My boyfriend said: "It's like eating French toast and a bowl of cereal at the same time." Like other reviewers, I added some cinnamon to the egg mixture. I also added a bit of sugar. I think next time I will use frosted flakes instead of adding the sugar. I also only slightly crush the corn flakes, this gives it more of a crunch. These are sure to become a new favorite breakfast for us, thank you for the recipe!! :D

Stovetop Granola
Really easy to make and tastes delicious. I cut down on the brown sugar a bit. Also, I add almonds to it before putting it in the oven - this gives the almonds a nice toasted flavor. Tastes wonderful over low-fat strawberry yogurt. Yum!
