About this Cook
I love to cook, but with a busy household seldom have the time during the week. I love fast, family friendly recipes. I also don't mind spending a weekend (especially in the winter months) preparing several meals in 2 days and then freezing for future use.
My favorite things to cook
family friendly recipes, anything Italian, slow cooker recipes, homemade pizza (that means dough from scratch!), soups
My favorite family cooking traditions
making an assembly line and having several family members help to make large quantities for Holiday meals ....especially making Lasagna with my aunts and mom!
My cooking triumphs
learning some of my mothers and grandmothers recipes PERFECTLY!
My cooking tragedies
spending hours trying to prepare and bake/cook a meal only to have the taste be mediocre!

Creamy Dill Cucumber Toasties
OH MY YUM! I've made this recipe several times now and each time they fly off the plate! I have baked the baguette circles for 5 minutes at 375 degrees and i love the "crunch". My entire family loves these....from my 3 year old all the way up to my 10 year old. Thanks for such a yummy and EASY appetizer!

Pico de Gallo
better than other recipes i've tried on this site. The fresh garlic and lime juice make ALL the difference in the world!

Sweet and Sour Zucchini Salad
I substituted red wine vinegar for both the vinegars that the recipe called for, julienned the zucchini and refrigerated overnight. Made it to bring to a friends BBQ at her beach house-everyone loved it! Next time I make it I will use a red or orange pepper for color.
