I am a professional photographer in Indiana (I do weddings!) and am definitely into enjoying art and "flavor" in life. I also am very involved in my church (the Lord is very important)which is a great support to my family. Family is definitely number one which is why I want to ccok better; I view cooking meals as a way to serve my family.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican food because I'm good at it. I learned a few different authentic recipes from various hispanic people I've known and I can cook the best Chile Rellenos ever!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Sunday my husband makes what he calls "Special Breakfast" before we go to church. It's something the kids look forward to not only because of the great meal, but because breakfast is not a usual meal where people all eat together, but we make that a point!
My cooking triumphs
One of the most involved recipes I've ever made was Coq au Vin because it had a lot of steps and I'd never made it before. Luckily, I had a good recipe because it was the first thing I'd ever made for my husband and it came out great!
My cooking tragedies
My husband and I made a Thanksgiving dinner and the turkey got ruined because it was still frozen on the inside when we started cooking it. Then I came down with a terrible stomache flu during the same day, so my husband took over and whipped up the rest of the meal. Luckily, we were able to laugh about it.
