About this Cook
I live in a small town in north Texas. I love to bake and cook for my family and am constantly looking for new recipes to try out! I will try anything once. I havent really come across a food that I do not care for. I work retail and at the end of the day I just want to come home, relax, and fix something tasty and hopefully healthy for my family.
My favorite things to cook
Any kind of mexican or tex-mex food...living this in Texas it is almost a staple. I love Italian food also. I love to bake when I get a chance, which is not that often, unfortunately. I love rice, will serve it with almost any meal. I am constantly looking for healthier alternatives to my favorite standbys.
My cooking triumphs
Hopefully the full Thanksgiving dinner this year for my family at my house...for the first time ever.
My cooking tragedies
I once made a cake without the flour. However in my defense, I was only about 9 at the time!

Sour Cream Waffles
These were very yummy!!! I too added some vanilla and a couple of TBs of sugar...although, probably leave out sugar next time, I don't think they needed it. My waffles we crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Very nice texture! The other adjustment I made was to sub 1/2 whole wheat flour and make the all purpose 1 and 1/2 cups. I would recommend giving these a try!

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits
I really love this recipe! It couldn't be any easier and the biscuits always turn out fluffy and yummy!

Oven-Barbecued Pork Chops
This was really good. Like other reviewers I too added a few spices to kick it up a little. I added red pepper, onion powder and some garlic salt. I also upped the amounts of Worcestershire, the brown sugar and vinegar(I used white wine vinegar since that is what I had on hand). I agree with the other reviewer who thought this would be a good sauce over chicken! I would have given this 5 stars if it were not for the additions...but over all very yummy and very easy!
