I was born & bred into Italian cooking, but I married my Asian husband who has taught me to cook a lot of traditional Asian dishes. And our kindergartner son is also interested in cooking. He is our little Mediterrasian fusion kid. :)
My favorite things to cook
I love making all the traditional Italian things my Nonna made, but my husband has made me proficient in Asian (esp Thai) cusine. (I even have my own Kaffir Lime tree...those leaves have such an amazing aroma!) And living in the LA area I have learned to cook my other favorite cuisine...Mexican.
I also love to bake pies & exotic flavored cupcakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our Italian x-mas eve feast: Homemade ravioli, gnocchi, bacala, fritelle, pizzelles....i could go on & on :)
My cooking triumphs
Mastering Beef Panaang Curry & Tom Kha Kai. My husband was impressed with that! He said they was as good as his mom's! Of course it was...i learned from her!
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to make meatloaf years ago when we were first married. YIKES! It was a mushy, tomato mess! I've never made it again.
