About this Cook
50 year old grandma, working full time, recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis so I am not sure how/if that is going to slow me down. It's one day at a time, like everything in life.
My favorite things to cook
Learning to cook for two again, after 29 years of raising kids and grandkids. Fun, fun, fun. I finally have my kitchen back.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Big family dinners. Also, my husband is just starting to cook with me now, and I love that.
My cooking triumphs
I can't think of any. I sometimes think the triumph of cooking is in the day-in-and-day-out of it, even when you don't feel like it....
My cooking tragedies
That I disliked cooking for so long, mainly because I was a single parent with too little money for food, and later I didn't have custody of my own kitchen which I shared with my adult daughter, who is a very messy person.

Honey Cornbread
Use 1/4 cup splenda. Just as good! Use 2% evaporated milk if you have no milk in the house, and 1/3 c melted butter. So yummy. Not crumbly at all.

Tartar Sauce I
My husband, who is a very picky eater, loved this.

Beef and Roasted Red Pepper Sandwiches
Definitely use crusty rolls, swiss cheese, real roasted red peppers. Too slimey otherwise. Will try again
