About this Cook
I am just starting to get into baking and cooking. Right now I prefer baking, but I hope to find some love for cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Breads, cakes, cookies, anything sweet I'll give it a try.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Arroz con pollo definitely.
My cooking triumphs
Making bread for the first time. It came out totally dense and bland, but I was still so excited to have made something by hand. I later learned how to knead dough and make it tasty.
My cooking tragedies
The challah I attempted making turned out terrible! I underbaked it thinking it would be done in 25 minutes, but it wasn't. Completely raw in the middle. Oh well, live and learn!

Rich Chocolate Frosting
Loved it! Made it as the icing for a Devil's Food Cake and it was devoured. Easy to make, delicious. Halved the recipe and it was enough to frost and fill a 9 inch layer cake.

Devil's Food Cake I
Tasty, moist, and relatively easy to make. It is a bit of a fussy cake as it has to be cooked at the correct temperature and time and if not the center can get a bit droopy. I used two 9 inch pans and it took me 30 minutes to bake it completely. Made this for a friend's birthday party and iced it with the Rich Chocolate Frosting and it was absolutely devoured. Will definitely make again.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)
Delicious, moist, almost like a pudding it was so moist. Will definitely make it again with all the different variations mentioned in the reviews.
