Flavorful Beef Stir-Fry

This was excellent! First, I made the sauce as a marinade and placed the beef in it for a few hours (adding garlic and ginger as well as extra soy sauce). Then made a second batch for when I cooked it (added it last, since the beef was plenty juicy from the marinade). I didn't have any peapods, so I used broccoli, shredded carrots and added mushrooms with garlic and green onion. So tasty! We definitely experiemnt with and try again the next time I'm craving beef stir fry!

Pepperoni Dip

Cranberry Pork Chops II

These were just okay, to me, although my boyfriend seemed to enjoy them. I didn't have a pan big enough to cook all 6 porkchops, so I ended up reducing the sauce by simmering for a half-hour and then pouring it over the already fried chops and baking for another 1/2 hour. Eh. There was a lot of jucie still and the cranberries were rather... just...eh.

Bachelor's Creamy Pumpkin Soup

It was easy, I'll give it that, but I really wasn't impressed with it. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or I just don't like pumpkin in a soup. Either way I only half-heartedly finished my bowl and still felt hungry after and the boyfriend didn't care for it much either. Ah well.

BBQ Chicken Pizza II

This was delicious, and so very easy. We cut out the onion and used garlic instead, and only used red pepper instead of the green, but it was still quite tasty. I used Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Chipolte as the sauce and added a wee bit of soy sauce into it - finger licking good! And spicy with a kick. Will definitey make again. I had a lot left over and could have easily made two pizzas, so next time, I will!

My Mom's Sausage and Rice Casserole

Made this last night - it was delicious! I followed some of the other suggestions (especially the one about adding the rice and letting it boil before baking to cut down on cook time - excellent!) I used Mild Italian sausage and it gave the whole thing this wonderfully spicy (yet not too much) kick to it that we found irresistible. I also added carrots into the veggie mix to add a bit of color. Yummy!!

Famous Pork Chops

This was nice and simple, and easy because you should have the ingredients on hand. I used Socialable crackers, not Ritz and love the even more buttery taste. I covered for the first half-hour, then left uncovered for the last 15, to make sure it wasn't mushy. So good! Will definitely use again when I don't feel like being fancy with my chops. Can't wait to try on boneless chops.

One-Dish Chicken, Vegetable and Rice Bake

It's not bad, and very easy to make - finding the right size long grain wild rice pack really helps - try Uncle Tom's - the Rice Roni boxes are two small now since they've reduced their size. It also helps to season your chicken a bit as well. Helps with the bland taste issue.

Pesto Cheesy Chicken Rolls

This is the best recipe I've ever used on this site - hands down. Delicious with a capital D. I freaked out at first because I realised when I started cooking that I forgot the toothpicks, but it still came out tasting great. I followed the recipe for the most part - all I did different was I added the step with the breadcrumbs/egg wash and covered the breasts for the first half-hour of baking. The chicken was so tender and tasted amazing with the melted cheese and pesto!! Restuarant quality meal!

Smoked Cheese Ravioli

This was quite yummy, except I had a hard time finding a bag of pasta big enough and therefore my pasta was a bit soupy. But still good. I added basil and garlic to the sauce.

Hamburger Quiche

This was pretty yummy. I opted to try it with the liquid smoke, but honestly, I think if you have a nice (already smoky) tasty bacon to add to it, you don't need both. The only issue I had was I cooked my hashbrowns forever and they barely crisped up. I'm not sure if it's because I chose to use the non-frozen kind (Simply potatoes!) or not. Next time I will try it with a thawed bag of frozen and see if that makes a difference.

Plum and Ginger Chicken

This had great flavours. The ginger and and plum sauce really work well together. All I did different was I added carrots and water chestnuts. I think next time I will try using flour instead of corn starch on the chicken, it made it a bit thicker/sticky while cooking. I also added fresh garlic and green onions while cooking the chicken.

Pork Dumplings

This was time consuming, but worth it. I ended up using two wrappers for each dumpling, because as try as I might, I could not get it to work folding just one. They kept falling apart or ripping. I was even using a teaspoon to apply the filling and it was still too much. That said, it all worked out for the best. They were yummy and very easy to make. I first fried for a few moments to brown and then added water to the pan to steam-cook them the rest of the way. We gobbled them up!

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

This was good - very easy, very yummy and very comforting. I used the already thawed hashbrown, and added some pepper, garlic and dill to them before everything else. Very filling! Definitely for the very hungry.

If there was a way to give negative stars I probably would. I followed the recipe (minus the extra pepper) exactly and it tasted like I was eating noodles. Noodles. That's it. No lemon flavour, no garlic, no basil. Nada.

Garlic Chicken Stir Fry

This was excellent. It has a great garlic taste that's surpisingly not overpowering. I think the sugar in the sauce helps that. I added a few extra veggies, like mushrooms and carrots, and served it over rice. My sauce did come out rather soupy, so next time I'll forgo the broth you put in the pan and just use the sauce as is. Used brown sugar splenda in the sauce, since we're watching our sugar intake around here. Couldn't tell the difference. Excellent stir-fry!

It's Chili by George!!

This turned out exceedingly well - I didn't get the big tomato juice, but went with smaller cans and complimented that with diced tomatoes and green chiles. This is a great slow-cook chili receipe that you can make in the morning and forget until dinner time. Will definitely make again!

Green Chile and Rice Casserole

I enjoyed this - and added chicken to it (seasoned with mexican-style seasonings) to make it a full meal. It's a comfort food type of dish and isn't full of spice, but a good cook can always overcome that when they want. I will definitely make this again. I love being able to put green chiles in things! lol

Cream of Mushroom and Soy Sauce Pork Chops

This turned out lovely - so easy to make and tasty. All I changed was I added some garlic powder and minced onion to the brown sugar rub and marinated a bit longer. I was also serving with mashed potatoes so I added an extra can of soup along with real mushrooms. So good!
