About this Cook
I've always loved cooking but was a go by the recipe girl. Since marrying my husband in 2005, I have finally learned to cook by the seat of my pants. It's amazing what we can come up with using just a little effort and a lot of know how.
My favorite things to cook
New recipes! They always come out perfect the firts time, but not the second, so I usually try new recipes when I have company. I am sure it will all turn out right!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Probably cooking gravy for everything. Born and raised in Oklahoma and everything always had gravy, white, brown or red and that's our tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I finally mastered frying potatoes! I know it sounds strange, but I never did it well until my husband gave me pointers. Now my potatoes are better than his!
My cooking tragedies
I made a delicious recipe of lasagna once to serve to a new boyfriend. When I cut into it to serve, it was sitting in juice that filled the pan half way up. I was horrified, but my boyfriend was sweet and ate it anyway. It did taste good, but was totally embarassing!

Spicy Brussels Sprouts and Carrots
I really liked this recipe. I am not a fan of brussels sprouts, but the carrots cooking with them helped right off, and the sauce was yummy. I will definitely use this recipe often. Thanks for sharing!

Slow Cooker Ham
All I can say is Oh My Gosh! Everyone at the reunion ate it over the smoked meats that my brother in law prepared right there in camp. I'm thinking of adding a little orange juice next time. Thanks for a GREAT recipe!

Herbed Mushrooms with White Wine
Very happy with this recipe. I expanded it a bit and made it into chicken and musrooms by adding chicken strips and white wine and a little chicken bouillon powder. All I needed then was a salad and rolls. Great meal. Thanks!!!
