My favorite things to cook
I love to make desserts, but also enjoy trying new recipes. I am always looking for quick meals to cook after work during the work week. I like all types of food.

Strawberry Cake and Frosting II
I didn't use the frosting that was suggested, but the cake was amazing. I made the batter just as suggested in two round pans for a layered cake. I put raspberry preserves between the layers, because I didn't have strawberry. It was delicious. I topped the cake with cream cheese icing and decorated it for my Father-in-law's birthday... strawberry is his favorite. We all thought it was delicious.

Restaurant-Quality Baked Potato Soup
Pretty good! :) used the suggestions of others and halved the cornstarch, potato flakes, and half&half. I also added 1/2 c of milk to substitute the half&half that I omitted. It was plenty thick. I did add some extra spices just to make it a little more flavorful! I think next time I might try the cheddar flavored potato flakes.

Tortellini Soup
I added some chicken and spices just to make it a little heartier and it was very yummy! It needed a little kick for our taste so we spiced it up a bit with the green tabasco sauce!
