I am 29 F, married over a year to my DH. I also share my home with an adorable boston terrier, Lilo, and a beautiful cat named Tinkerbell (yes I am a huge Disney fun, that's where I spent my honeymoon). I spend most of my free time competing in amateur billiards (8 and 9 ball), cooking or hanging out with family and friends. I am most likely to be found on my couch watching a movie, in the pool hall or in the kitchen concocting a new baking recipe or a slow cooker meal.
My favorite things to cook
Anything with seasonal fall ingredients; pumpkins, apples, butternut squash; I love them all. I also love making baked goods; cookies, breads, pies and painting chocolates. Italian,Mexican and Carribbean are the faves in my house. Homestyle comfort foods with lots of flavor and a healthier take.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember every Christmas stirring a giant bowl of butter cookie dough with my mom. It was tedious, but looking back we bonded a lot over that bowl and wooden spoon. Slow Cooker sausage and peppers with pasta for every birthday meal that was fun. And the silly clown topper that we always used on our homemade birthday cakes. Also my mom making me pumpkin or regular custard because I didn't like the pie crust.
My cooking triumphs
I made a beautiful Pork Roast stuffed with Apples and Cornbread Stuffing basted in Cider and Apple Bourbon for my boyfriends family one New Years (so yummy). My homemade Chocolate Coconut filled cupcakes and finally making a perfectly cooked steak.
My cooking tragedies
A Berry Pie that drowned the crust and nearly flooded my oven with too much juice. It was so gummy and awful. Some kind of ground beef experiment that turned into a ground beef souflee (not pretty and tasted worse). When I was much younger I set the toaster ablaze and burned a teapot to a crisp (don't ask about either).
