My husband and I are getting ready to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We have reared 4 children; the eldest and middle son are in California and our youngest son just went to Spain for college. Our daughter and granddaughter were killed in a car accident on Sept. 11, 2001 returning from a prayer vigil for the victims' familes of the terrorist attacks. they were hit head on by a drug addict and killed. We were behind them following them home and witnessed their deaths.... I have loved to feed my family for many years and have included them in on the preparation of many foods. I love to bake bread, pies, fancy desserts as well as the traditional cookies and other baked goods. I love to feed a crowd and wait for the MMMMMMM's. :) One that is coming up is a pretty simple one--I have made "beef boats with sails" every year for Columbus Day. My kids still love these and will un- doubtedly talk to me about them even from afar this year. I get together with friends who don't know that much about pie-making and do that on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Love to make my homemade fudge for Christmas gifts. With my growing family and just my husband's Social Worker income, every night putting good tasting food on the table was a triumph! A couple of cakes layer slides, last week I fell asleep ion the couch and woke up with the kitchen filled with smoke...I had burned the chicken I was boilling. First ti,me that ever happened...ooops, but all was ok, ultimately.
