I made a half recipe of this hearty bread because I was low on flour. It turned out well, though did not take near as long to bake as specified. Be careful to keep a close eye so as not to over bake. I wish I had wrapped the bread right away to preserve the moisture. All in all a good basic recipe that I am sure to make again.

Strawberry Syrup

This was a very good strawberry syrup. I didn't add the full amount of sugar, as reccomended in other reviews, and it was plenty sweet. I did cook it a little longer to thicken slightly. Once it begins to cool it will thicken considerably more. Delicious! We enjoyed this on banana pancakes for a tooty-fruity delight!

Banana Pancakes I

Great taste, very fruity, just not as fluffy as I would have liked. Maybe I'll try again with a bit more baking powder. **** Tried these again this morning with a new can of baking powder- Fantastic! Also make sure you do not over mix the batter, there should still be a few lumps. I served these with the Strawberry Syrup on this site and everybody raved over them!

Kentucky Style Fried Green Tomatoes

Enjoyed the years first bounty tonight! I followed the recipe with one exception, I was out of bacon grease, used corn oil. Next time I will definitely make sure to use the "bad" stuff, can't wait!

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto

This was a delicious rendition of risotto. Will definitley be in my recipe box for good. Served as a side with any chicken or fish dish would be outstanding!
