I am definitely what can be called a "novice" cook/baker. Just recently after starting a family of my own and leaving college did I finally say "forget it!" and start finding thinks to cook/bake for my family and I. Before this I let my mom cook (she's great) or my son's father cook for me (LOVES to cook!) I never knew what to cook, or how to do it, and when I tried, someone would usually take the reins when I asked questions! Now, I'm venturing into the culinary world! Wish me luck!

Rum Cake I
This cake is AWESOME! Yet another recipe my mom introduced to me back when I was in high school, and I've carried it with me for the last few years, bringing it out especially during Holidays! It's a huge hit with all of the family!

Beef Stroganoff I
My mom introduced me to this recipe right after I returned home from school two years ago, and it has been a regular meal for my family and I! It's quick and easy (just like I prefer,) the sauce is rich, and the meat tender! I tend to add seasoning salt to kick the taste up a notch.

Buttery Soft Pretzels
I'm definitely what you would call a "novice" when it comes to cooking and baking. My mom and I LOVE soft pretzels, and our favorite mall pretzel shop closed, plus five dollars per pretzel is a bit much!
I tried this recipe for my first time tonight and it was AWESOME! They tasted just like Auntie Anne's. Granted, my form wasn't the greatest, but I took advice from other reviewers by raising the oven rack, and using parchment paper on my pan. I also lowered the oven temp to 400 degrees, but I think it was a bit too low for the 8 minutes bake time. A few tweakings and it will be perfect! Thanks!
