I'm a student at Michigan State University - I'm studying psychology, and I will graduate in December. I love to play the piano, sing, read, write, watch movies, crochet, scrapbook, hang out with my friends, and of course, cook and bake.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake brownies, and I really like to cook comfort foods. I also like to make fancy meals. My favorite things to cook are foods that make the people that I cook for happy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making the Thanksgiving meal with my Nana! I'm a big fan of the stuffing, and of her cheesecake pie. Nana also makes cream mints, and I just adore these. On top of all that, my mom has the best Christmas cookie recipe ever.
My cooking triumphs
I made a really delicious saffron risotto a while ago, and my boyfriend told me that it was 'restaurant quality.' I also feel accomplished if I can get my mom to eat the food that I cook, because she's an extremely picky eater.
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 15, I was making chili con queso. Our family stores baking items in Tupperware containers, but the labels have long rubbed off. Well, I wasn't paying close attention, but to make a long story short, I managed to put baking soda into my food instead of cornstarch. My chili con queso exploded.
