Thanksgiving: my husband's family does a Lebanese meal which is a wonderful family time and takes all day to prepare and 2 days to eat! Christmas: my family is always baking from scratch Xmas cookies, gingerbread men, brandy balls,nutmeg logs, etc. and now my children are helping and making a mess - a great time and great homemade Xmas gifts!

Million-Dollar Pound Cake
One of the best cake recipes I have ever made. I agree with "wannabebaker" and added 1 cup milk - made a really moist delicious cake. I also use this recipe for layered decorated cakes (using only vanilla extract) - has great density to hold any kind of frosting and tastes wonderful. Many rave over this one!
