The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Breakfast, muffins and cookies, healthy and seasonal foods
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cochinita pibil for Christmas, cazuela Tuxpeña for New Year and tuna pie for my birthday.
My cooking triumphs
Selling my fruit tarts while in high school with one of my friends. She finances our operation and I put in the labor. We sold tarts and cakes every holiday.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 18 I made a pasta dish that called for red pepper flakes. Instead I used chile de arbol flakes. It was so spicy that my family refused to eat it. Except for my dad that ate it with tears rolling down his cheeks. I guess he didn't want to waste the food.

Sugar Cookie Drops
I added 1/4 tsp more of vanilla and salt just as other users indicated. I rolled half of the cookies in a mixture of macadamia nuts, cinnamon and sugar. They were delicious!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
This is a great basic recipe for sugar cookies. I added cinnamon for an extra kick and doubled the vanilla extract. They do cook fast and are a bit sticky. Next time I will definitely make them a little thicker.
