About this Cook
Wife of one, Mom of three, retired law enforcement. Daughter of one helluva cookin' Mom and a Dad that was quite the cook as well. Mom passed on her baking and candy making skills to me, as where Dad gave me his grilling/cooking skills. Now spending my time caring for family, farm animals, and cooking and baking. Some entertaining as well.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, oven cooking- I love to use the oven more than anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookies, candies, and Dad's amazing bbq prime rib & carne asada- still don't know how he did either one. All Mom's prized holiday recipes have stayed with me.
My cooking triumphs
Mom's peanut brittle- it's amazing. Everyone wants the recipe, a few have it, but claim they can never get it to come out like Mom's. When I made it and gave it to them, apparently I had some of Mom's skill as they all said it tasted just like hers.
My cooking tragedies
Fudge, can't get it to come out right at all using a candy thermometer.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II
I thought this was great! I did add a bit of balsamic vinegar but that was it. I think next time instead of cutting the O.O. like some people suggested, I'll leave it as the recipe calls for. I also browned the chops first, put them in partially frozen, cooked on low for 3 hours, then left them on the warm cycle for 4-5 hours. They came out moist and delicious. I will definitely be using this recipe over and over again!

Irish Cream Bundt Cake
I followed the recipe to the "T" this time and everyone thought it was very good; however, the last time I made it I doctored it a bit and people were falling over themselves to get more. Thanks for a great foundation recipe.
