About this Cook
Currently in the 8th grade in S'pore, trying to use allrecpies.com to find recipes of food that arn't easy to find here because the food sold here is geared more towards the asian side so sometimes it's hard to find some ingredients that are said in the recipes (Ricotta, ground beef, onion powder and etc.] or it costs ALOT of money so that makes me angry but most of the times, recipes I like usually have the ingredients I have or the ingredients I can substitue for like evap. milk for heavy cream :)
My favorite things to cook
Asian-style food since that's one of the only things my parents would eat, but I like pasta ALOT, trying to find new ways to cook pasta. But my new obsession would be pie, you can fill it, pre-bake it, bake it with the filling and bake at the same time, make it sweet or make it savory and the only tough part is, imo, rolling out the pie crust. Easy much?
My favorite family cooking traditions
Asian food, more towards chinese food like rice with a few side dishes and occasionally some other type of dishes. Taking a liking to making pies now, especially pre-baked ones
My cooking triumphs
Making a double crust pie, properly. The last time I tried it with a chicken pot pie and the top crust was so not stable I had to fold it in plastic wrap in quarters just to be able to flop it on top and any attempt to make it stick to the side just failed but I made it the second time with the Oil Pie Crust and I managed to make the peach pie work :)
My cooking tragedies
Burning my chocolate cornstarch pudding, since I was lazy and I washed my container, but I didn't know it wasn't completey dry so there were some sugar molecules stuck to the bottom while I was letting the cornstarch to do it's thing, it burnt and made the whole pudding taste like smoke! In the bad way! I made it again with a dry pan and it was delish. Guess you learn from mistakes?

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies
wow, I have been searching for a brownie recipe that was just chocolate cake in disguise and WOW, this is so good. I found mine to be too thin since I halved this and baked it in a 9 inch pan. It was so awesome though, wished didn't halve it.

French Silk Chocolate Pie I
Like, wowwwwwwwwwwwww. So good and so simple, I made it in less than 15 minutes since I popped it into the freezer. I followed what someone else said and whipped the egg whites into meringue before folding it in, made sense to me. I used cocoa powder since the choc. chips I had on hand just wouldn't melt for some reason... Had to add 2 tbsp hot water to smooth the end out since the cocoa powder made it a paste but afterwards, everything went smooth and ended up being super awesome. Will use lesser butter/sugar/cocoa powder the next time though P.S: Didn't use a pie crust since I was too lazy to make one, didn't need one anyways since you can just scoop this into a bowl and make it like a fancy pudding

Playgroup Granola Bars
Didn't use wheat germ (didn't have any) or oil (since I made this since it was high in fibre, so why use oil? I just used more honey and some yoghurt in it's place) It was awesome, will make again, again and again :)
