I'm a grandmother of 3 (2 boys, 1 girl), 2 married daughters, & 1 husband of 39 years. I made wedding cakes for 32 years. Finally retired about a year ago to spend more time with the grandchildren. I am a baker at heart (since I was about 12), but I love appetizers too, especially for tailgating. Chicken Stew is my father's family tradition recipe. It's an all day project with everyone helping and so worth it in the end. There was no recipe, just handed down to each generation but my dad helped me figure out something to put on paper and now I have mastered it. I've had many over the years but my children's and grandchildren's birthday cakes would be at the top of the list. Mastering petit fours took awhile but I did it. They melt in your mouth. Not too many fortunately.....just a peanut butter icing for a genoise cake. It always slid down the cake.
