I REALLY like to bake! It's my release and I get this love from my mother, who is an amazing baker and was once a pro cake decorator. I like to bake just about anything and my favorite of all things is PUMPKIN! I wait all year for fall to come around so I can have pumpkin muffins, pancakes, etc... Fall is definitely my fave season, especially because of the cuisine!
I can cook as well, but I am more comfortable baking. My husband is the cook in the house!
My favorite things to cook
Baked ziti (comfort foods), Italian dishes & Puerto Rican food (platanos, tostones, empanadas, arroz con pollo etc...)
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't really have any traditions yet. Dh's grandma makes "Arroz con dulce" which I think is "Arroz con leche" during Christmas time. It's good - it has cinnamon and raisins among other things.. My real grandma (deceased) used to make Italian things from scratch (sauces, etc) and she used a lot of garlic in everything.
My cooking triumphs
Helping my mom decorate a HUGE cake when I was little & using all the fancy tips and pastry bags. ALSO making this awesome Italian chocolate mousse (with espresso and dark rum) that was really hard to make! I only make it once every couple of years because it's a royal pain...
My cooking tragedies
Well my oven sucks and I found out the hard way by ruining 2 loaves of pumpkin bread and turning them to charcoal. The inside was liquid and the outside was black! HOW??? I followed the directions to the letter!!
