About this Cook
A wife and a mom of a six year old girl. I have recently stopped working, from a full time job, and I am learning to be a stay-at-home wife/mom. I have been busier than ever since then......I am just learning to really cook, other than hotdogs and mac n' cheese, that is.
My favorite things to cook
I love to grill. I have enjoyed roasting and baking lately.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My parents are wonderful southern cooks. My mom has always made delicious gravy from scratch. She can bread and fry ANYTHING! I am just learning some of those skills.
My cooking triumphs
I fried chicken like my mom today for the first time! Whooo-hoooooo!!
My cooking tragedies
I have gone to the ER twice for grease burns. Ouch! I was ordered by my physician to stay out of the kitchen, but I am stubborn....

Lazygirl's Ground Turkey Stroganoff
Wonderful recipe. I use 2 tablespoons on freshly diced onion in place of minced onion. One time when I made this, I substituted 4 oz. of sour cream and a few splashes of chicken broth. I used just a tad of cornstarch and water to thicken the sauce to my desired consistancy. The family loves it!

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini
A winner at our house. I used marsala cooking wine and reduced the black pepper by 1/2 tsp and it was a hit!
