BAKER'S Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
Fan.Tas.Tic! This is definitely now in my top 3 favorite cookie recipes! The cookies were a breeze to make, and even better to eat. I didn't have choc squares on hand, so I used a half bag of semi-sweet mini chips, and cut up one square of Baker's white chocolate. 10 minutes in the oven was perfect for me. The cookies came out soft, with a touch of crunch around the edges. Perfect!!!

Banana Smoothie I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
Oh yeah baby! This was good! I made some changes, as I was making this for my kiddos. I had some "Just Whites" on hand so I used that instead of the raw egg. I also cut the sugar down to 1 tbsp, and added one ice cube. I also used an overripe frozen banana. It was nice and thick, and I think the cinnamon makes the recipe - it adds that extra something. This recipe was a HIT! Thanks!

Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
This recipe is wonderful. I sauteed my onions beforehand so they would be soft. I also slow-cooked my chicken for 7 hrs in a cup of chicken broth with a bit of seasonings. My husband liked this recipe better than Chicken Enchiladas II on this site, which is also very good. This recipe is definitely closer to authentic Mexican cuisine. It has a good, rich cilantro flavor. If you don't like cilantro, you might not like this one. Thanks for a great recipe!

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
This recipe is perfect, in my opinion. The pancakes are fluffy and moist and oh-so-tasty! I resisted my urge to add a little vanilla, and they were still fantastic. This is definitely going in my permanent file. Thanks, addean1!

Thai Spiced Barbecue Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
This was very tasty. I wasn't able to marinade the shrimp nearly long enough (about 10 min.), but it still turned out super-tasty. I also used curry powder, as I didn't have the paste.

World's Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
Pretty good! I made the recipe just as written but added chopped dill pickle. It was very good, but a little sweeter than I like. I will make this again, but will reduce the sugar as others suggested.

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
This recipe IS to die for! I absolutely love these rolls. I first used them with "Easy Slow Cooker French Dip" from this site. YUM!! The rolls were gone so fast. My husband said he would eat these more than candy (and that's saying a lot with his sweet tooth!). I use a bread machine to do the dirty work. I brush the rolls with melted butter partway through baking, and I bake them at 375 as previous reviewers suggested. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Pork Chops Over Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
These chops didn't turn out as tender as I like, but for how quick and easy this recipe is, I'm pleased! I followed the recipe, but seasoned my pork chops first. The rice turned out nicely flavored and just perfect.

Waffle Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
These cookies are delish! I found this recipe in search of a cookie like this that runs in my husbands' family. These are even better! (Which even he admitted!) I used 2 eggs as suggested from a previous reviewer. They turn out having the taste of a brownie, with a chewy, yet crunchy texture. I have to admit when I started making the cookies I was discouraged, as they didn't want to come off the iron. However, I soon discovered the trick is to turn the waffle iron over and drop them out onto a piece of wax paper. These disappear quick!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
Very, very tasty scone recipe. I like my scones a little sweeter than this recipe, but I put a vanilla glaze over the top and that sweetened them up. I used a dried berry mix (raspberries, cherries, blueberries, cranberries) instead of the raisins. This will be my permanent scone recipe.

Cranberry-Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
Delicious, super-moist cookies! Be prepared to eat more than one! I added a bit more sugar at the suggestion of previous reviewers. I also used a Tbsp of lemon juice instead of orange zest because I didn't have an orange or concentrate. I think the cookies would be better with the zest but they're fab anyway. I drizzled a vanilla glaze over the top of the cookies as well. Yum!

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
These are very tasty. I used real bacon bits to cut down on prep time and reduce the mess! A also added about salt and pepper, and a teaspoon of pickle juice, as I always do to my deviled eggs. It adds an extra kick that's oh-so-good. The bacon and cheddar were a nice change to the usual deviled eggs.

Pear Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
This recipe is excellent! The only thing I changed was that I used: 1/2 tsp cinnamon, a dash of nutmeg and a dash of cloves (only because I ran out of cinnamon!). It came out fantastic! I have to admit I was skeptical, but this bread is super moist and very flavorful. Yum. Definitely try this recipe. UPDATE: I have since made this recipe using canned pears and it is equally tasty, if not better!
