I am recently retired and now have time to try all the recipes I never had time to do while working. I live in a small apartment so don't own alot of fancy kitchen appliances, however I enjoy doing things the old fashioned way! Bread is my weakness! I love desserts but should not eat them; will make when expecting company. I am (at heart) a southern girl and was raised by a sweet "Georgia Peach" so developed a taste for BBQ, fried chicken, etc. I lived in Germany for five years and love to try recreating that cuisine! Sunday is always the big day for the homecooked meal! Even though I can do the big meal anyday now, we still remain faithful to the Sunday tradition. Rouladen! It was absolutely wonderful and everyone enjoyed (or so they said). I don't like cooking on electric - I fail to realize that when you turn it off, it's still hot! I've burned countless items because of that!
