About this Cook
I enjoy sports, hockey and football are my faves. They are also my favorite to cook for. Cooking tends to unwind me after a long day. I love to find new recipes and try them out. I also love going to Mohegan Sun, traveling and spending time with my loved ones.
My favorite things to cook
Oh this ones tough, I love to cook everything! But I would say my favorite meal is dinner. I love to cook crisp veggies, tender meats, with a side of potatoes, rice, or pasta. And whats a good meal without some soft yet flaky and crisp bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
It's a dish made of rice, peppers ( both hot and mild), steak in a tomatoe paste sauce wrapped in cooked cabbage, I make every year around the holidays just like mom!! And of course the homemade pies and cookies!
My cooking triumphs
Making my first beef stew, I slow cooked it for hours, I marinated the meat, I was so nervous the meat would be too tough but after cooking it for almost 8 hours (over the stove at low heat) it was divine. The meat was soo tender and the veggies were actually crisp.
My cooking tragedies
one time I made a pot roast, I hadn't made it in a very long, so I forgot how many hours I let it cook to get it to be really soft. So I only cooked it until it was slightly pink thinking it would be ok because it had been sitting in its juices. Oh was I wrong. The bottom was soft but the top was so hard to eat. It was tough and chewy just awful!
