Absolutely delicious! Not too sweet or thick, it was perfect. Thanks for recommending to put everything in the microwave for 45 second intervals, this made it so much easier!

Classic Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
Wonderful recipe, I used every single ingredient as instructed but used my Kitchen Aid to knead the dough for about 7 minutes or so. If you are not used to handling though, make sure you powder your hands with some flour so it doesn't stick to your skin while shaping the bread balls. I have to admit that they were not as fluffy as I wanted them to be, they had a biscuit type of texture so that's why I gave it 4 stars. I will be proofing the yeast next time to see if they come out fluffier.

House Fried Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
Excellent flavor, restaurant quality. I followed the advice of others and only used 1/2 the amount of sesame oil and combined it with vegetable oil. Cooked the rice the night before and chilled it in the fridge. Cooked everything in layers, first the veggies (broccoli, red pepper, carrots), put aside. Then the shrimp and the ham, then added the veggies and rice, then cooked the egg and seasoned it with soy sauce. That's it. Fast, easy and delicious!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Absolutely wonderful! I used a little bit less sugar because I felt 1/2 cup of each was a bit much and I added 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon to the sauce. I also used the Pillsbury pie crusts and poured the sauce on the apples as others suggested. After watching the apple pie video on this site I brushed the pie crust with cold milk and sprinkled it with a little bit of sugar. I'm telling you it was to die for!!! Oh by the way, I had like two cups of leftover apples so I'll be using 6 gala apples next time I make this.

These were really good and easy sandwiches to make. We skipped the green chiles though.

Great recipe! I just wished I had scraped off the excess of each apple before they set. But this recipe is just fantastic. By the way, I didn't change a thing about it.

Lime Cilantro Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
Really good recipe. I only changed a few things but only for personal preference. I always make my white rice with vegetable oil, add salt and a pinch of onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper. I also skipped the lime zest since I used the bottle version of lime juice. It was perfect!

Cuban Ropa Vieja

Fantastic recipe. I'm Colombian and absolutely love to try any Latin recipes and this one totally nailed it. I didn't change a thing but I couldn't find flank steak, so I followed another member's advice and used London Broil, it turned out tender, juicy and easy to shred after it was done. I served it with Cilantro Rice (also from this site) and pinto beans.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
This was easy to make but ended up being very runny. I did what another member suggested, added the mayonnaise mix to chilled macaroni about 30 minutes before serving and it was still pretty runny. I also only used 1/4 cup of sugar so it wouldn't be too sweet. Great flavor though.

Tina's Best BBQ Lime Chicken

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I tried this recipe this past weekend and I cannot say enough about it. I made kabobs with them by using 3 large chicken breasts, left them in the marinade for 2 hours and then grilled them with pieces of red and green bell peppers. I didn't bother boiling the leftover marinade at all and they were so moist and delicious. By the way, I only used ½ cup of olive oil and ½ of bottled lime juice and it was plenty.

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I made these for Mother's Day yesterday and they were pretty good. I've never made cheesecake before and never got my batter to be "light and fluffy", it was very runny, no lumps though. I used regular muffin tins and put 1 wafer in each as recommended, should've crushed it instead because we just ended up with one cookie at the bottom of the cheesecakes. Baked them for 30 minutes and it made a total of 10 regular size muffins. I think I'll try it with graham crackers next time... crushed.

My husband made this last night and it was fantastic. He didn't make the salsa but did marinade the Tilapia and grilled it on both sides. It was sooooo good and he was so proud of it too!

Fantastic! Better than fried. I only had 2% milk and added an egg to it as one reviewer suggested. I also added 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs to the breading. Can't wait to make this again!

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

I've never had Manwich because I hate onions with a passion, so I gave this recipe a chance last night and it was delicious. I put a slice of provolone cheese to each sandwich and it was incredible, sorry if I offended any Manwich fans out there. ;) One thing though, I found it to be a bit salty so I'll skip that next time. This one's a keeeeeeper!

Baked Pineapple II

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
This is definitely a bread pudding which I love. I used 6 slices of regular white bread (equals 4 cups cubed) which is what I always use to make bread pudding. I will however put in only 1/4 cup of sugar next time since the pineapple juice made it a bit sweeter than I would've liked. Great recipe!
