Mushy, mushy. I used 3/4 of the bread called for, less liquid as other reviewers had said, turned the bread over and it was still too mushy for our taste. I ended up taking it out of the baking dish and putting each piece- not touch anything- on a broiling pan and baking until the entire piece came out firm. I was hoping for a quick and easy meal with the pleasures of french toast without the work and I ended up more frusterated and in the kitchen for longer than if I had just made it on my skillet. I gave it a two star because the flavor is good (it is exactly what I use for a skillet-prepared french toast) but it was just so gross and mushy I can't rate it higher.
