Pastitsio II
Fantastic recipe! I think the cinnamon is key to the authenticity of this dish, which is the only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars. I added about 1/2 tsp of cinnamon to the meat mixture, and a sprinkle in the cream sauce. But the dish itself is easy, even though it's time-consuming, and everyone enjoyed it. I will definitely make this again - it will be great for feeding large crowds. I did make the following changes, strictly out of necessity: I used skim milk, and light margarine instead of butter; I didn't have wine or paste so I for the paste + wine + broth, I used tomato sauce with vegetable boullion mixed in. I expect wine would be better but the dish was great even with my forced modifications. This recipe is a keeper!!

Orange Poppyseed Cookies
In theory these looked great, so I disregarded the previous reviews. But this recipe does not work. The first batch was so thin I basically baked orange poppyseed paper, not cookies. (I made no variations.) So I added flour, which made them hard and tasteless. Furthermore, a chocolate button is a large chocolate chip, which looks really stupid in the middle of a cookie any larger than a quarter, and didn't help the flavor of the cookie anyway. This is the first recipe on this site that has failed me, but it failed miserably. Sorry. I really wanted to like it.

Hot Fudge Sauce
Easy peezy. My 10 year old put this together herself, with minimal stove/can opener help from me. And it was great! Rich, creamy, smooth. It's exactly what I was hoping, based on the reviews. The recipe photo doesn't do it justice - it's really quite thick. I think I will also try this with dark chocolate and bittersweet, just to see what kind of variations I can get. I really didn't expect anything fantastical from 4 simple ingredients...but sometimes being wrong tastes goooood.
