My boys
About this Cook
My name is Bill, I'm from West Jordan a small suburb about 30 minutes southwest of Salt Lake City. I'm married with three boys, Nathan (7), Jacob (3) and Tyson who is 6 months. I'm a stay at home dad, my wife is amazing she works as a nurse full-time and is in graduate school working on her doctorate degree in the field of nursing. In addition to cooking I enjoy running, weightlifting, hiking, camping, watching sports, and going swimming with my boys.
My favorite things to cook
My absolute favorite things to make are deserts: cheesecakes, pies, cookies, pastries of any variety.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I acquired my love of making homemade pies and deserts from my mom, she is a fantastic cook, and makes incredible pies and deserts, so I definitely want to keep that tradition going.
My cooking triumphs
I think my best cooking triumph is the homemade crust I use for all my pies, it took me quite some time but I finally have a recipe that I really like.
My cooking tragedies
There have definitely been quite a few of these! The one I remember most however was when i was first getting into cooking seriously and I got a little over ambitious and tried to make this very extravagant multi-layered cake. I spent over 6 hours on it, and it turns out I didn't beat the eggs long enough so when i put it in the oven instead of "puffing up" like it was supposed to, it instead went completely flat. Probably the most frustrated I've been while cooking.
