About this Cook
I live in LA County with my boyfriend and we both work and go to school. I really enjoy cooking meals for us and trying new things. However, it is very difficult because he is a very, VERY picky eater. But, I still really enjoy making dishes that please both of us. I am into rock music, fashion, exercise, cooking, and learning.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything. I enjoy cooking dinners the most, and I usually cook typical American cuisine, e.g. casseroles, American pastas, grilling, etcetera, but occasionally I try something different or ethnic to keep it from becoming boring. I was raised in the Midwest so I kind of came out appreciating heartier, bolder tastes. I haven't had too much experience baking and I'm kind of apprehensive to begin trying! Baking definitely has more potential for disaster because you have to get the recipe and the cooking/baking just right. I would like to try nicely-presented dishes or really fancy cuisine, just for fun!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Though it is still just us two, we managed to pull off entire Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners last year, our first year away from home for the holidays. That was so much fun and a great thing to remember.
My cooking triumphs
I've found that cooking is so much easier than it seems, but it just takes practice! Once you start to actually learn and taste the differences between the flavors you add to dishes, it's all downhill from there!
My cooking tragedies
Anything I made when I began cooking, and some experimental dishes.

Two-Cheese Pizzas
Really good and easy! I used good-quality pita breads and added bacon. I will definitely make this again, great idea for a quick dinner.

Easy Pizza Sauce III
My first time making pizza sauce. Granted, I did add a lot more ingredients (e.g. sugar, garlic powder, salt, pepper, etc.) but I really enjoyed this recipe :) My boyfriend was skeptical of my pizza sauce because he's used to storebought kinds but he was pleased! I was too -- I thought it came out very well and I would definitely make it again.

Grill Dough
Grilled pizza is now one of my favorite foods :) I added more sugar, as suggested by other reviews, as well as cooking the dough on one side before adding toppings. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out very well! I will definitely make this again. I used pesto, fresh tomatoes, bacon, provolone and mozzarella cheeses, and fresh garlic for mine.
