Thank you Grandma Ople, whereever you are! I am a young woman with a brand new family and was put in charge of Thanksgiving pies this year. I have never made a pie before!! My mother is NOT a baker and my own Grandmother passed away when I was very young so I never had anyone to show me how. This recipe was so very easy to follow and had even the pickiest eaters wanting seconds! My only regret was that I didn't make two of them! So thank you, thank you, thank you for posting your Grandma Ople's recipe. I will be using it for years to come!

I made this soup last year out of our leftover Christmas turkey and never did review it. Well, it's the day after Thanksgiving again and I've got my turkey carcass and I'm making it again. Oddly, I've already received three phone calls this morning to find out if I was making 'that turkey stew stuff' again! It was a HUGE hit last year...we had two turkeys at Christmas (we have a HUGE family with different tastes, so we had one smoked/fried and one baked in the oven) so needless to say we had a LOT of soup to go around. Everyone got some! The instructions are very easy to follow and I found it to be very hearty and flavorful just as it is. It also freezes VERY well, so it can be saved if you wind up getting 'turkey-ed out' before you can finish it. Thanks for this great way to get the most out of our turkey! It is a fantastic recipe and it quickly becoming an after the holiday favorite!

This pie received RAVE reviews from even my most finicky eaters! The whole blueberries were a wonderful little surprise every time you took a bite and the sauce received much praise. Using a combination of fresh and cooked blueberries was a wonderful idea! The instructions were super easy to follow but since I made my own crust, I followed the cooking instructions of another reviewer and had NO troubles whatsoever! I have never made a pie before this one and have now been elected as the holiday pie-maker so long as I continue to bring this one to our family functions! Thanks so much!
