Hidden Secret Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
After reading other reviews I decided not to add the egg and breadcrumbs so that it would not taste like meatloaf. I seasoned the meat and added the onions. Added Ortega chilies instead of jalapenos because dh cannot handle, but I put jalaps on my burger. Not bad. Will probably make again. Thanks for posting the recipe

Double Ranch Fries

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
These were pretty good.. I dried the potatoes and tossed them with olive oil and baked them in a 400 degree oven for about 40 minutes (I cut the fries pretty big) Didn't want the seasoning to burn so after about 30 mins I sprinkled the seasoning on and let it go. Worked out pretty well. Thanks for posting the recipe

Blue Cheese Potatoes Delmonico

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
My hubby just loved these potatoes. He would give way more stars if he could. Me not so much. following other reviewers suggestions, I cut way back on the flour and butter for the roux, and I am very glad that I did. I added some Creole seasoning and a half a cup of parmesan cheese. It was maybe a 4 star for me. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
Hubby tried these and really liked them. I made the recipe as written and then I made some using white chocolate and sprinkled some Heath toffee bits on the top. Hubby liked those better that the traditional recipe. Said they had more flavor.

Cheddar Jalapeno Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
This reccipe is a little time consuming, but one of my friends gave it 67 stars. Everyone loved it. The only thing that I changed based upon previous reviews wass to use a thinner cut of bacon, and bake for about 15 minutes at 400. I then turned over the shrimp, poured out the fat and cheese that had accumulated on the pan and broiled for the last 7 or 8 minutes. Perfection. Than you so mmuch for posting the recipe.

Jerry's Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
This recipe is a solid 5. Very good. I have to say that I did make a small change. I started out following the recipe exactly, and did make it exactly, however, I used Frank's Red Hot "Thick" Sauce. However, the butter separated from the sauce so I spooned out the butter and added more sauce so, if you use the Frank's Thick sauce, you can save a whole bunch of calories by not using any butter at all. Friends loved it.

Colorful Spinach and Prosciutto Side

This was a very nice side dish. Very colorful and tasty. I followed the recipe exactly. I think with a little heat, cayenne, or pepper flakes it could make this a 5 star dish. Thanks for posting the recipe

Grilled Hanger Steak with a Roasted Shallot Port Demi Sauce and Grilled Garlic Green Beans

This was really good but I don't think that the method of cooking this meat made it tender. It was very tough. It had good flavor however. Thanks so much for posting the recipe.

Martha's Magic Meat Rub Pork Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
This was very good. I just expected a little more out of it. The spices seemed as if they would really compliment the pork but when I pulled it out of the oven, all of the spice flavor was in the juice in the pan. It did not stay on the meat. Although my picture does not show it I did butterfly the meat, although I used regular white onion istead of green onion because that is what I had. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Essence of Bread

This was a really good basic bread recipe. I was making the Paul Bunyan Burgers from this site and this bread stood up really well to the burger. Did not fall apart. Very nice. I halved the recipe and made 6 large buns out of it. Thanks for posting the recipe.

This was very good. I have never coooked a stuffed burger before and I think that this has given me some ideas. Hubby thought that it needed a sauce of some kind. He added BBQ sauce and loved it.

Orange Apricot Loaf

I made this recipe to give it a face for the AllRecipes Allstars challenge. Very easy to make. I took it to work and everyone really liked it. A couple of people said that it seemed a little flat. May have to tweak a little next time.

Italian Style Short Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
I just made these for the Allrecipes Allstar challenge and they were exceptional. Both my hubby and I gave them 5 stars. The meat was tender and juicy, the sauce delicious. I did make a couple of small changes. I thickened the sauce a little and I added onions at the beginning of the cooking time. Will definitely make these again. Thank you for posting the recipe.

Liverwurst

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
Sorry I could not give this recipe more stars but, I had a really hard time with this one. I made according to the recipe but all of my sausages burst during cooking and all the flavor was gone into the water. I did make 2 larger versions using the method discussed by another reviewer and wrapping the larger sausage in cling film. I left tons of room for the sausage to expand after the earlier disaster. I also thought that this really didn't taste like liverwurst. There was very little liver taste and the texture was more like a meatloaf and very crumbly. If you make this recipe please leave a lot of room in your casings for this to expand. Also maybe make tiny holes with a needle to let some air escape. (I did this with the larger sausage and it seemed to help. Thanks for posting the recipe though.

Mom's Stuffing Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
Like other reviewers I used chicken broth instead of water and I added some fresh sage to the stuffing. I also thought that the cooking time seemed to be overly long and I hate dry pork so, I browned the pork chops which brought them up to the required temp. (140 on my thermapen ) and just baked them for 30 minutes with the stuffing on top and the chicken stock included at that step. This was a nice dish that I will make again. I just didn't think that it was good enough for a 5 star recipe
