About this Cook
I love trying new recipes and seeing the look on my husband's face when he loves what I've done. I am all about spice and tend to add much more than recipes call for. I hate bland food - the more pep, the better!
My favorite things to cook
I have been using my slow cooker lately - it is so easy! Italian is probably my favorite type to cook and I would love to learn more about authentic mexican cuisine. I love to cook with all spices; my favorites include fresh cilantro, rosemary, and garlic. I also love the taste of recipes that include dry white or red wine, and sherry.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family has always cooked large gourmet meals for holidays and that is something that has become very important to me. I love cooking for my family and celebrating the good food that brings us together.
My cooking triumphs
I am proud at how much tastier my cooking has become in the last several years. I have found the joy in cooking and that makes me happy. I love the fact that I can find the right spices to enhance recipes. To me, recipes are a great foundation and it is up to me to find ways to make the entree more unique.
My cooking tragedies
When my husband and I were first dating, I made him BBQ chicken on the hibachi. Since I was new to BBQ'ing, I didn't realize that I had to let the coals ash over before I put the chicken on. Being the good sport that he is, my husband ate it, but later confessed that the only thing he could taste was lighter fluid!

Italian Sausage Soup
Excellent and tasty! I used Italian sweet turkey sausage and added chopped onion to the initial garlic and tukey browning. I also added about three cloves of garlic, 2 Tbsp. of oregano, and a pinch of red pepper. Will definitely make again.

Guacamole
Great recipe! We had to omit tomatoes because a dinner guest does not like them, but it still turned out great. I added extra cilantro and the lime really adds a nice zest. Bueno!!!

Best Spanish Rice
One word - DELICIOUS! We had a small dinner party and this dish was a huge hit. It is so easy to make and has a great, authentic taste.
