i', a grandma of 8 been in the US for 49 years, live in the country and love to have grndkids come to visit, 3 r 5 hrs away, the other 5 9 hrs so it's a big deal when they come and i start cooking days b4 especially kid friendly recipies, i have adopted 4 kittens from shelter and they r my at home babies, i feed them only raw chicken with vits and minerals, all their illnesses have disappeared, my hubby is on the road so i have lots of time to do my baking and freeze it till he comes home
My favorite things to cook
dutch stuff, oliebollen for new years eve. always dutch pancakes (eierpannekoeken) when kids come or when i visit them, red cabbage with apples and cloves, hache which is lots of onions and beef
My favorite family cooking traditions
oliebollen and appelflappen for new years eve, do it every year and what i call my Christmas pudding, made with cream of wheat in a bundt cake form it's white so i drizzle it with berry sauce
My cooking triumphs
strawberry cheesecake when i was much younger, it turned out beautiful and i surprised myself, also feeding 17 family members for 12 days (family reunion) was daunting but made it thru
My cooking tragedies
2 chocolat cakes in a row, found out my oven was on the blink, wasted a lot of good ingredients, went out and bough a new range/stove that qweek no more probs lol
