Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Everyone always loves this when I bring it to parties. I usually put just a few chocolate chips on the inside and then roll the outside in them, no nuts.

Best Beer Cheese Soup

We didn't really like this. It was really runny, and I expected a lot thicker. Also, the flavor was off, though that could be partially because of the beer we used. I will be trying out a new recipe next time, however.

Portobello Mushroom, Fresh Peppers and Goat Cheese Pizza

I made this using jarred roasted red peppers instead of the fresh ones, cremini mushrooms, goat cheese and artichokes. I also made my own dough. The toppings were great, but the pizza seemed really dry, even with the olive oil and balsamic. It definitely needs some sort of sauce, and I doubt I would make this again without that. Dipping in ranch helped, but still wasn't perfect.

Three Animal Italian Meatballs

Delicious. Love the combination of flavors. Husband loved them too. We ate them sliced up on bread as a sandwich, but I'm sure they'd go great with pasta too.

Best Ever Chocolate Cutout Cookies

Nice and chocolatey, but a bit too crunchy for my family's preference. I tried less time in the oven and then they just kind of crumbled. I might make again in the future, or else just make regular chocolate cookies instead.

Hollandaise Sauce

Was easier than I expected to be. Had my husband help- he whisked the yolk mixture and I added the melted butter. It started to get too thick, so I added a bit of the hot water from the pot that was waiting for poached eggs. I halved the recipe, but didn't measure the lemon juice, so overall it ended up being too lemony, though still delicious. I definitely plan to use again. Helpful tip: put the sauce in a thermos while you cook the eggs, this will keep it warm and it won't break! (per Alton Brown)

Gnocchi in Fontina Sauce

I thought it was very delicious. The cheese was a bit stringy, but overall everything went together wonderfully. I upped the cream to a 1/2 cup, but otherwise pretty much followed the recipe. My husband wasn't big on the gnocchi, so I plan to try again with linguine instead.

Hubby's Pizza Bread

I don't know if it was the recipe or because I baked the bread per instructions in the bread machine. It was disgusting. If I ever attempted to make this again, I would definitely choose to take it out of the machine after the dough cycle and bake it manually in my oven.

Sooo yummy! I used the method recommended by another poster to melt the chips right on top of the crispies mixture, and it worked great! They ended up a little hard to chew, but that could be because it's been pretty cold in the house. Will make again.
