Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
THIS IS A PERFECT CHEESECAKE!!! Do EXACTLY as the recipe says and you will have a very moist, creamy, crack free cheesecake. The one thing I did just to prevent the cracking as I didn't want to believe the recipe (LOL) was spray some oil on the inside of the pan. BUT you don't need it...it would have been fine. My brother is a big cheesecake fan and he said that this was the best one he has ever ate. Will be my ONLY cheesecake recipe from now on. Thanks Chantal! :)

Elegant Fig Appetizers with Goat Cheese and Almonds

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
I ate something similar to this at a party so I was glad I found this recipe...so simple yet so divine! I didn't use almonds. Another twist would be to wrap some proscuitta around the fig...I would probably put it in the oven for a bit verses under the broiler though.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Great, simple recipe....the way an apple crisp should be! I actually made this for my freezer. I prepared the filling (with a little bit of added lemon juice) and put it into ziploc bags...froze them flat. Then when I need a quick, easy dessert I just thaw, pour into my casserole dish, prepare and add the topping! Voila! (hint...I also do this with my apple pie fillings too...freezing this way saves space instead of having to freeze whole pies)

The Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
I found this bread a little too sweet and in fact I could taste the white sugar. Maybe switching to brown sugar may make it a better taste.

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
I agree...one of the best oatmeal cookies I have ever ate! I took some of the advice and added 1tsp of vanilla. I also only added 1/2 cup extra of oatmeal as I was concerned that 1 cup would be too much as others had suggested...they were great with what I did but you could go up to 1 cup. I also didn't have any butterscotch chips so I used some semi-sweet chocolate ones and it was awesome! This will be our new standard oatmeal cookie!!!

Gnocchi in Fontina Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
Very good...just like a high end restaurant would serve! I used light cream and found that I had to adjust (use more) accordingly as I was make the sauce. I also used Asiago and parmesan cheese as well as reducing the amount of fontina. Very rich sauce...I found it needed something so the next time I served it I added some sauted wild mushrooms on top...made it absolutely perfect!

I was like the others...it sounded so bad that I had to try it. It really is AWESOME!!! Not only does it taste good but it is VERY healthy. Highly recommend.
