oooh, I was at a tastefully simple party last night..and wanted their beer bread for my thanksgiving dinner tonight. However, I had to order it, and the lady did not have any on hand to sell right then and there. So..I went searching for a recipe and hit upon this one. YummO..omg, this is soooo goood! and it smells so wonderful baking. Something I'm going to try tomorrow? cream soda, with cinnamon for a breakfast bread and then drizzle some thinned buttercream frosting...I think it will be very very good.

Just made these this morning, and doubled up the recipe, we have a family of 6, and the boys like their pancakes to be big :), they were soooo yummy! not sure why anyone on here is having any kinds of problems with them. The batter was thick, very thick, but they turned out, light and fluffy. If they are cooking on the outside before the inside? thats not the batter..thats your temperature, your pan is too hot! I put my pan at med/low and I take oil on a napkin and wipe around the inside of the pan. Not one of them bunred, an all were cooked through. Light, fluffy, sweet, very very good melt in your mouth.

this was fantastic..I've been trying and trying to find a receipe that matched Pulix' buttercream, but could never find it, this came about the closest, after tasting it bit by bit, I felt 8 cups of sugar would have been to much, so I stopped at 6, and I used half of butter flavored shortening, with plain shortening, and I used almond extract instead of vanilla..the almond gave it kind of that wedding cake taste, its wonderful! took it to a family picnic and everyone raved about it! so thank Rick! :)
