This was such a good sauce for a fresh apple cake I made for my granddaughter's 20th birthday party. We served it hot with Vanilla Ice Cream on top. The hard sauce made it so much better. I used Korbel Brandy instead of rum as that is all I had and it was so good with the Brandy. I also heated the sauce in a sauce pan and then spooned a litte on each piece of cake.

My husband ate some before dinner, right out of the oven and again after dinner. He said it was delicious. Yummy cake. Will make it again and again. Thanks for the recipe. Easy to make too!

I just finished making this and it is so good. I will make it again when I have an abundance of fresh tomatoes. Thanks for sharing. I didn't have any cloves so I used a pinch of All Spice, and a pinch of dried chili flakes. I like a little heat. Very good!
