Many years ago I was given the "sauce" part of this recipe and told it was good for chicken, turkey, or pork. Having lost it and remembering only some of the ingredients I am overjoyed to "have it back again". I use a can of Tropical Fruit instead - bigger chunks and even dried add apricots sometimes. Bless you for returning my all purpose sauce to me.

I too glazed with brown sugar/ketchup since my meatloaf pan has inner pan with holes to easy out loaf and drain juices to make gravy. I nixed the onion and added nutmeg as well. It's a very good recipe as is or varied.

Great recipe. I prefer to add 1 tsp. cardamom to meatballs and skip the vegies in the sauce. I also add chunk mixed fruit 5 or 6 min. before serving so they just warm for variety.
