About this Cook
I am a busy mom of 6. My kids are very involved in a lot of different sports. I enjoy watching them do their things. I also enjoy watching the Bears and I am interested in politics. I have a great husband and great kids.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are things I know my family will love and that are pretty quick and easy to get on the table. I'm pretty proud of my chili and chicken skewers with a peanut sauce.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and grandma make unbelievable lasagna. I also really love my grandma's homemade Italian salad dressing. It not only is great on a salad it is awesome as a marinade and on sub sandwiches. But it is impossible to get the recipe from her. She always says it's a pinch of this, a pinch of that!!
My cooking triumphs
Anything that the kids will eat and tell me to make again is a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
My husband and kids will not eat anything that has tyme in it.

Grandma's Corn Chowder
We enjoyed this soup a lot. I did make a few little changes, I used broth instead of water and I added more bacon. (What isn't better with more bacon!) I also made the soup, except half and half, early in the day and let it finish cooking in the crock pot. This just made my day easier. My kids and my husband really loved it. Thanks for the great recipe.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili
This was good, and it was quick and easy to make. My family didn't notice the pumpkin, although it really thickened the chili. I used tomatoes with green chilies in it and added cumin. I also added beans, so I did change it a little. We enjoyed it, and I will make it again. Thanks for the recipe.

Buffalo Chicken Dip
A friend gave me this recipe a couple years ago and it is always a huge hit at parties! It is so easy and I have never had left overs! I have used the canned chicken, which is great for last minute guests, and I have used boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I usually just boil the chicken and shred it. I'm always tempted to use blue cheese, but almost hate to mess with something everyone loves! Maybe next time. I serve it with tortilla chips and right out of the crock pot. Great recipe!
